Associated Group Request for Function Space Form
Function space requests for meetings and food/beverage events at the Hilton Washington, Marriott Wardman Park, and Omni Shoreham should be directed to TRB.
After space is assigned, function organizers will work directly with the hotel to finalize arrangements including food and beverage, audiovisual, special setups, and to establish credit/billing status.
Function space is first given to TRB events.

Function space - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In mathematics, a function space is a set of functions of a given kind from a set X to a set Y.
It is called a space because in many applications, it is a topological space or a vector space or both.
Banach space: a vector space with a finite collection of seminorms (equivalently, a single norm).

Basis function - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In functional analysis and its applications, a function space can be viewed as a vector space of infinite dimension whose basis vectors are functions not vectors.
In this example, we say that the vector (x,y) is in the space spanned by the vectors (1,0) and (0,1).
Note that while the two-dimensional plane is spanned by only two basis vectors, a function space is spanned by an infinite number of basis functions, because the function space is infinite-dimensional.

The advertising of functions in the lobbies of hotels must be confined to the activities board of the hotel being used and should be cleared through the management of that particular hotel.
Signs identifying particular function areas may be placed on the floors in the main or lobby level, and immediately outside the function entrance.

 XML Path Language (XPath)
A FunctionCall expression is evaluated by using the FunctionName to identify a function in the expression evaluation context function library, evaluating each of the Arguments, converting each argument to the type required by the function, and finally calling the function, passing it the converted arguments.
Each function in the function library is specified using a function prototype, which gives the return type, the name of the function, and the type of the arguments.
NOTE: The number function should not be used for conversion of numeric data occurring in an element in an XML document unless the element is of a type that represents numeric data in a language-neutral format (which would typically be transformed into a language-specific format for presentation to a user).

The redshift space correlation function   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-16)
Even though a correlation function is simple to calculate, there are a number of problems that need to be faced when applying correlation estimators to magnitude limited surveys.
The correlation function code was applied to the 6dF mock data sets, and produced the mean correlation function shown in Figure 4.1.
The results show the correlation functions for both uniform and proportional tilings are well behaved at large scales, and show no evidence of bias on the scale expected if clustered regions were being sampled in a biased manner.

 MORE ABOUT FUNCTION SPACE
A Hilbert space is simply a vector space on which there is an inner product and on which there is one more bit of structure.
The argument uses the fact that E is complete and can be found in any introduction to Hilbert space or functional analysis.
Since the space of continuous functions on [0,1], denoted C[O,1], with the usual inner product is not a Hilbert space, one should expect that there might be a linear function L from C[0,1] to R for which there is no v in C[0,1] such that

AMCA: Feynman's operational calculus for a sequential operator-valued function space integral by Kun Soo Chang   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-16)
In 1968, Cameron and Storvick introduced an analytic operator-valued function space integral and a sequential operator-valued function space integral and they used the letter to show the existence of the former for functionals in a large class.
In fact, we define operations * and + on functionals defined on the space of all piecewise continuous functions on a closed interval and gave algebraic properties of the operations.
Then we show that the sequential operator-valued function space integral of F*G is the product of the integrals of F and G. Also we show that the sequential operator-valued function space integral of the commutator of F and G is the commutator of the integrals of F and G. Date received: April 12, 2005

Kantian Quantum Mechanics, Metaphysic of Space
The act of observation, which collapses the wave function, is conformable to the Kantian act of synthesis, by which phenomenal objects are introduced into consciousness and subjected to the categories of the understanding.
If the wave function collapses into one particle, or one mental state, however, then this maintains the metaphysical dualism between wave function and particle that both Bohm and the decoherentists want to eliminate.
