  Ambiguous Integration
The problem of social integration is reduced to the explanation of such forms of integration as "functional integration," "racial integration," and "cultural integration." Another common approach to integration study is using synonyms such as: cohesion, synthesis, unification, etc. to define the term.
Cultural integration is functional when it has a positive effect by maintaining and perpetuating unity, balance, and progress with the elements of society.
Cultural integration is always a matter of degree; one may speculate that the degree is a measurement of the ties between the homogenous segments of a culture.

Functional integration - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Functional integration is a collection of results in mathematics and physics where the domain of an integral is no longer a region of space, but a space of functions.
Functional integrals arise in probability, in the study of partial differential equations and in Feynman's approach to the quantum mechanics of particles and fields.
By analogy with integration of functions, functional integration is a summation procedure where the domain of integration is a space of functions and the functional integral an addition of cylinders (just like the prisms in ordinary integration) with the functional as the height and some amount (or measure) of function space as the base.

IT Arch.Transformation Articles -- Essential Information Integration Strategy
The integration tasks defined under this project included creating a common front-end, linking the new site to each of three back-systems and bypassing the three application specific security screens so the customer would think that this is now a single application.
If an integration initiative was too narrowly defined or beyond the scope of a given business unit, the integration hub could launch an umbrella project to address integration issues at a more strategic level.
Integration is not a buzzword and it is not one more item on an IT task list that can be worked in when time permits.

Structured Modeling: Survey and Future Research Directions, Section 3
Deep integration produces a single new model that combines two or more given models, subject to the important qualification that the new model must be represented in the same definitional formalism as the given models (or in one of the definitional formalisms used by the given models, if they happen to use more than one).
Because functional integration does not need to reconcile different model classes or model instances as deep integration does, functional integration is better able to cope with the relatively greater difficulty of the integration types that come late in the partial orders just mentioned.
Consequently, functional integration is likely to be more practical than deep integration in situations that call for the more difficult types of integration (Dolk and Kottemann [1993]).

Functional (mathematics) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The secondary usage in the compound linear functional arises from functional analysis.
While in the foundational period of functional analysis from 1900-1920, it was largely the study of vector spaces such as the Lp spaces that are function spaces, the later axiomatic approach made no such assumption.
The name linear functional, however, was carried over and applied to the dual space construction, in the general case.

Functional Integration is based on the interaction between the components that are described in Table 1.
Many functional interfaces are tied to a specific programming language or technology because the stronger semantics of the conversation require a more detailed contract that includes the representation of method names, complex data structures, return values, exceptions, and other elements.

Functional Integration is based on an altogether different perspective -- focusing on behavior and neuromuscular organization rather than structure.
Functional Integration is not a process in which the practitioner "does things to you", or imposes change on you.

Integrate applications at the logical data layer by allowing the data in one application (the source) to be accessed by other applications (the target), as shown in Figure 1.
Choosing the right kind of data integration depends on the factors that are most important to your organization and on achieving the right balance among the tradeoffs.
In many integration scenarios, access to the internal code values is more useful because the codes tend to more stable than the display values, especially in situations where the software is localized.

Although appreciation and spontaneous creation of visual art are intrinsic elements common across cultures and races, little is known about the functioning of the human brain while mentally composing an artwork.
Comparing two groups during the task, significantly higher delta band synchrony was found in artists as compared with non-artists, yet desynchronization was found in the alpha band in artists; higher synchrony in low frequency band (primarily delta) is likely due to an involvement of a more advanced long-term visual art memory in artists.
The results indicated that the patterns of functional integration during spontaneous mental creation of paintings are significantly different in artists from that in non-artists.

A functional test tests a single feature, usually involving an interface, the business code that does the task, and the code that interfaces with middleware services, such as databases.
This level of integration testing is important because you ensure that the interaction between the major elements of your system works as you expect it to for each feature you provide.
This example uses the same integration framework that you used through the Rails console, and it uses the same assertions model as the functional and unit testing frameworks.

The basic idea underlying the FOCAL SKILLS program design is that the macroskills (listening, reading, writing, and speaking) form complex and shifting patterns of functional interrelationships during the course of L2 acquisition, especially when the target language is also the language of instruction.
By progressively integrating the skills in a sequence that exploits their functional interrelationships, FOCAL SKILLS seeks to intensify the effectiveness and rate of language acquisition.
The FOCAL SKILLS placement system and the instructional modules interact to guarantee that the skills will be progressively and functionally integrated, as shown in the Flowchart.
