Gustavo Santaolalla - Music Downloads - Online
Around this time, he recorded a solo album with the assistance of keyboardist Alejandro Lerner, bassist Alfredo Toth, and drummer Willy Iturri, titled simply Santaolalla (1982), which, like Pensar en Nada, was well received in his native country.
With few exceptions, each of these albums was released by Universal Latino, which partnered with Santaolalla; in fact, the two formed a joint venture in 1997, forming Surco, the producer's own boutique label (a sublabel, Vibra, was founded later).
A peculiar album, for it isn't particularly Andean-sounding, Ronroco nevertheless attracted producer/director Michael Mann, who approached Santaolalla with a request to use the song "Iguazu" in The Insider (1999), a film starring Russell Crowe.

Fundamental (Pet Shop Boys album) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The album entered the UK Albums Chart at number five on 28 May 2006 (see 2006 in British music).
The liner notes shows that the album is dedicated to two executed Iranian teenagers, Mahmoud Asgari and Ayaz Marhoni, who were hung on July 19, 2005 for engaging in homosexual behavior.
The album has been noted for being more political than any other of the duo's albums to date; even the title, in one sense, is a reference to religious fundamentalism — portrayed here in a light, critical manner, which singer Neil Tennant attributes to the relatively relaxed status of religious freedom in the United Kingdom.

Pet Shop Boys: Fundamental (2006): Reviews
Fundamental is the group's most inspired album in nearly a decade.
Fundamental offers pleasure as rewarding as The Magic Mountain or Glenlivet 18--indulgences best enjoyed as you approach the half-century mark, when your imagination is keen to leisured elongations of familiar tropes or newly appreciative of exotic sumptuousness.
The majority of Fundamental is like the majority of their great album Behavior in that repeat listens are required to do these rich songs justice.

The album was only a moderate commercial success, and in the four years that have passed it is unclear where Bonnie Raitt is headed artistically.
Fundamental was not as satisfying an overall album as 1989's Nick of Time or 1991's Luck of the Draw.
The album's closer, "Wounded Heart," is a piano-based weepy that she delivers with conviction and restraint.

 Crosswalk.com - "Testify" a Welcome Return to P.O.D.'s Roots
After several years, albums, and promises, popular rock group P.O.D.  seems to have finally returned to their roots with the release of "Testify," their first album since "Fundamental Elements of Southtown" to breathe the energy for which their independent work was noted.
The latest album from P.O.D. serves nicely as a testimony to the group's storied career, which now spans over a decade, providing a veteran take on the youthful integrity and enthusiasm that typified the group during their formative years.
The album also attests to the changes that have occurred over time, but in a way that should appeal to their entire fan base.

BBC - Pop/Chart Review - Pet Shop Boys, Fundamental
The album is quite varied and thought provoking and I love their ballads as well as the more `poppy' stuff.
A fan since their first album, I have 'Fundamental' on repeat and it keeps growing on me. Having grown up with all sorts of dance music and being a producer myself, I am astonished at the quality of this album, from the songwriting, to the production to the amazingly clear and final sound.
Fundamental is a album with beats which belong in the 00's mixed with orchestral backdrops which please the ears.

However, it is very easy to produce many separate albums, each optimised to suit the particular album's content.
It is desirable not to rebuild the entire album when a new sub-album is added, but to handle these separately and then just re-build the top-level, master album.
It is sensible and logical to organise JAlbum folders into Input and Output, such that source data generally resides in the former, and all albums are created in the latter.

Salon Sharps and Flats | Bonnie Raitt
The swampy sound of Raitt's slide slipping over the strings of her Stratocaster is one of the sweetest musical signatures in popular music, and a major element in Raitt's enduring appeal is that she's always been a player in the band, a musician more than a personality.
And the "Fundamental" band is exceptionally fine, with Froom on keyboards, Steve Donnelly on rhythm guitar and a rhythm section of drummer Pete Thomas (of Elvis Costello's Attractions) and bassist Joey Spampinato (of NRBQ).
The production of "Fundamental," cut mostly live in the studio in a month flat, is not as whacked as that of records that Froom and Blake have made for Los Lobos and Suzanne Vega, but its tracks are rich with sweaty details.

The Album of Human Rights is an illustrated publication on the European Convention on Human rights and Fundamental Freedoms which is a legally binding document for all member states of the Council of Europe.
Among fundamental features of democracy we would find the participation of citizens in the state administration, the system of bodies of political power (division of power to constitutional, executive and independent judiciary) and independent controls by democratic institutions.
The Convention on Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms and the related protocols were signed on behalf of the CSFR in 1991 and after ratified by the Federal Assembly on March 18, 1992, Czechoslovakia became a participant to the Convention.

Pet Shop Boys: Fundamental - Release Music Magazine review
The rumours preceding this new album “Fundamental” was extremely positive, stating that this time Pet Shop Boys had returned to the sound of old and come up with some great songs.
The album opener is a somewhat Kraftwerkian tune called “Psychological” that could well have been a B-side.
A lot has been written about the lyrical content on “Fundamental”, and it is actually refreshing to hear songs about politics and erections (or rather the absence of one) on a Pet Shop Boys album, considering Neil Tennant's sharp mind and humour.

Her lyrics are crafty, too, whether she's calling down the furies as she opts for another spin on the flaming "Spit of Love" or feeling romance tug like quicksand in "Cure for Love." A little weird, maybe, but commanding, wise, real, and beautiful.
The album's opening title track is perhaps the best expression of that feeling, with its relaxed, slightly uptempo blues rhythm, its slide guitar solos, the "live-in-the-studio" sound of its vocals, and its background horn arrangements (by Bonnie Raitt herself), subtly framing her voice without ever getting in the way.
The album's warm earthy sounds are reflected in the subtle glow of the fall colors depicted in its booklet and front cover, delicately blending with Raitt's red hair.

 Fundamental and Concrete
Fundamental's first song seems a surprising choice: a vaguely Kraftwerkish piece, a stylistic throwback in some ways, that's frankly more the kind of track that one would think might make its debut as a single b-side than as an album opener.
As with the album Fundamental itself, the spectre of 9/11 hangs overhead.
The title of the album was originally announced as the extremely straightforward Concert, but only five or six weeks before release came the announcement that its title had been changed to Concrete—as puzzling a choice as the first title was unimaginative.

Slant Magazine - Music Review: Pet Shop Boys: Fundamental
Their catty whines about the downtempo earnestness of 2002's Release finally worked: Fundamental is, at least in most obvious ways, a return to the synth-pop confection of the Boys' '80s arc.
Like Confessions, Fundamental is plenty of fun, but what sets the two apart is the latter's poignant bit of relevance.
The album's closer, "Integral," pulsates with steely percussion and communistic choir vocals, a palpably angry satire of a militaristic society closing in on itself.

In 1971, on her very first album – with Minneapolis folkies and Chicago bluesmen threading hand claps, shuttlecock shakers, tubas and tenor saxophones through the mix – twenty-one-year-old vocalist and slide guitarist Bonnie Raitt announced her resistance to both folk gentility and studio antisepsis.
But now she seems to have had enough, and her first studio album in four years enlists producers Mitchell Froom and Tchad Blake on a quest for the fundamental things.
