Another Look At Macarthur And The Blood of Christ
He could then simply take the fundamental approach of accepting what the Bible says about the saving power of the blood of Christ.
While I am not a member of the Fundamental Baptist Fellowship, I heartily commend them for speaking out on the blood of Christ.
While MacArthur is trying to make out like fundamental leaders are in agreement with him on the blood, we venture to say that there are many fundamental pastors who are deeply disturbed over his stand.

World Baptist Fellowship - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Though the rise of liberalism among Baptists reaches back into the 19th century, the fundamentalist opposition to liberalism came to the forefront early in the 1900s, especially with the publication of The Fundamentals: A Testimony to the Truth between 1910 and 1915.
The Fundamentals was a series of twelve articles defending the 'fundamentals' of the faith, such as the inerrancy of the Bible, the virgin birth of Christ and the literal return of Christ.
In 1920, Curtis Lee Laws, a Baptist editor of The Watchman-Examiner coined the term 'fundamentalist' and defined a fundamentalist as one "ready to do battle royal for the Fundamentals of the faith." J. Frank Norris became a combatant in the fundamentalist/modernist controversy.

It was originally called the "Fundamental Baptist Fellowship," whose principal reason for existence was to protest and combat the modernism within the Northern Baptist Convention.
In the document, which was agreed to by the CBA and the two mission agencies, the Conservative Baptist movement was declared to be "separatist in spirit and objective." However, the passage of years began to reveal that many Conservative Baptists were not nearly as separatistic as this document might seem to suggest.
Dr. Lee Long, General Director of the Conservative Baptist Fellowship, was elected Missionary Secretary of WCBM and served in both capacities in the early days of the Mission.

JS Mack Library - Fundamentalism File
The Fundamental Baptist Fellowship traces its roots to the "Fundamentalist Fellowship," a group of non-conformists who gathered in 1920 to protest modernism in their 13-year-old Northern Baptist Convention.
Twenty-six years later and still inside the NBC, the group changed its name to "the Conservative Baptist Fellowship of Northern Baptists," and then finally despaired of the success of non-conformity a year later in 1947 after the NBC rejected their independent mission board.
His extensive documentation on the Conservative Baptist Association of America reflects the heated conflicts that went on within that body (of which Weniger was a part) in the 1950s and 1960s.

Georgia Baptist Convention - Georgia Baptist Convention -
From our beginnings, Baptists have actively favored the Lordship of Christ, the authority of the Bible over tradition, believer's baptism, the priesthood of all believers, the gathered and congregational church, local church autonomy that encourages associationalism/connectionalism, the separation of church and state, and religious liberty.
Local Baptist congregations were thought to be the only true churches, together comprising the Kingdom of God on earth and able to trace their lineage back to the New Testament through a succession of non-Roman Catholic bodies.
Baptists should not accept the so-called baptism of other groups (not even their immersion), not share the Lord's Supper with them, not recognize their ordinations, and not permit their ministers in Baptist pulpits.

A Welch Succession of Primitive Baptists
Thus, in America, primitive doctrine came to be the prevailing theology of those Baptists which held to the tenets of election and predestination.
Such practices were in contrast to the early Baptists of Wales in the Midlands, who claimed their succession of Baptist heritage through the mother church in Olchon Valley located on the Wales/England border, which is part of that area of Britain known as the Midlands.
Fellowship is acceptable proof of common theology since it is documented that Olchon Church was very strict in matters of faith and practice.

Baptist History - A Brief Survey Independent Fundamental Baptist Churches - What they are and What is their History   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-07)
The name Independent Fundamental Baptist Church is used traditionally by churches which pattern themselves strictly after the example of the early church as found in the New Testament.
These true Baptists added the adjectives Fundamental and Independent to their name in order that they not be identified with the false practices and teaching of the doctrinally unsound churches using the Baptist name.
To call these people Baptists or Baptistic, in the sense that the believed the Bible and followed it as their sole authority for faith and practice, in the same way true Baptist churches do today, is acceptable, although it serves no purpose.

Professor Beale emphasizes the complexity and diversity of fundamentalism and attempts to correct the stereotypical view of it as a compassionless, anti-intellectual, religiously contentious movement mean of spirit and pharisaical of character.
The two basic themes of this book revolve around the interdenominational character of fundamentalism and its emphasis on "the doctrine and practice of holiness," a term that the author defines as meaning separation-separation from the world, false religion, and every practice of disobedience to the scriptures.

BAPTIST FELLOWSHIPS WARN OF PROMISE KEEPERS MOVEMENT
Though independent Baptists do not believe in denominational structures which influence or control the assemblies, they do believe in fellowship, and they associate and work together in various ways for the fulfillment of the Great Commission.
Two loosely knit fellowships of independent Baptist preachers and churches are the Southwide Baptist Fellowship (SBF) and the Fundamental Baptist Fellowship (FBF).
The Southwide Baptist Fellowship and the Fundamental Baptist Fellowship both passed resolutions this year warning of the Promise Keepers movement.
