  Funge-98 Final Specification
Funges are programming languages whose programs are typically expressed in a given topological pattern and number of dimensions.
Other Cartesian Lahey-Space Funges include Unefunge (one-dimensional) and Trefunge (three-dimensional.) Since not all Funge instructions are appropriate in all Funges, comparison to Befunge is often used to clarify points in this document.
The Funge stack stack is a LIFO stack of typical LIFO stacks of cells.

Funge   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-01)
A funge is one of a number of programming languages which execute instructions by moving a pointer in a number of dimensions by issuing commands about which direction the pointer should move.
The rules for the programming language Funge are a generalisation of the rules for Befunge, a two-dimensional funge.
Funge, in addition to Befunge, includes rules for Unefunge (one-dimensional) and Trefunge (three-dimensional).

Marville France - CF-104 Reconnaissance Program - Noel Funge
During an AFHQ/DADTO team visit to RAF reconnaissance establishments in February 1964, it was discovered that Flight Lieutenant (F/L) NT Funge of the RCAF was completing a three-year exchange tour as a tactical-reconnaissance navigator on Canberra aircraft of No. 58 (PR) Squadron of the RAF, based at Wyton, England.
F/L Funge had earlier completed a tour on 408 (R) Squadron at RCAF Rockcliffe on photographic operations, including tactical reconnaissance training using the Vinten F-95 camera system.
F/L Funge was offered two choices: to be posted to Cold Lake to instruct crews at the OTU; or proceed immediately to 1 Wing Marville to capture the 439 and 441 crews already serving in 4 ATAF.

 Dictionary of Meaning www.mauspfeil.net
'''Funge''' refers to a family of esoteric programming languages which model their programs as metric spaces with coordinate systems (often, but not necessarily, Cartesian coordinate system Cartesian) and which execute instructions located at points in their program space by moving an instruction pointer (a position vector which indicates the currently executing instruction) through that space.
This specification is a generalisation of the semantics of the Befunge programming language, which has a two-dimensional torus toroidal topology.
Languages which adhere closely to this standard, such as Unefunge (one-dimensional) and Trefunge (three-dimensional), are sometimes called ''funges'', while more "distant relatives" which differ in significant respects, such as Wierd, are referred to as ''fungeoids''.

Befunge - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A number of extensions to the original "Befunge-93" specification also exist, including Funge-98, which extends the concept to an arbitrary number of dimensions and can be multithreaded, with multiple instruction pointers operating simultaneously on the same space.
Befunge-extensions and variants are called Fungeoids or just Funges.
The Befunge-93 specification restricts each valid program to a grid of 80 instructions horizontally by 25 instructions vertically.

 Got Root : Compiled Funge
What they said was: It is (almost) impossible to successfully compile a working funge source.
Chris Pressey, the author of befunge93, wrote a program called bef2c, which would take a befunge source file and translate it into another C file to be compiled.
The c source was a complete mapping of the 2d funge space, complete with goto links to every neighboring instruction, so the program would function just like a befunge93 application.

Book: AI for Computer Games and Animation: A Cognitive Modeling Approach by John David Funge
In the ideal scenario, to build a program from components, you would select the ones that you need and then specify how many of each type and how they are to interact.
Funge puts forward the principles of a high-level language that can be used to abstractly define the behaviors of virtual characters.
Unfortunately, he does not describe enough of the language to be completely convincing that his approach has been effectively implemented.

Artificial Intelligence For Computer Games by John David Funge is a solid, straightforward instructional text of basic artificial intelligence theory, the principles from which it derives, and how it is practically applied to program challenging and creative NPC behavior in popular computer games.
Black-and-white diagrams and boolean logic symbols help drive the precepts home, though Artificial Intelligence For Computer Games does not contain any computer code per se - this is a manual of basic techniques that can generalize to any programming system.
