		First emerging in about 1981, it set out on it's musical path by being at the crossroads of several musical styles: Hip-Hop, Funk, Disco, Punk and the emerging technologies of relatively cheap Japanese electronic musical instruments like those made by Roland.
		Electro has been a huge influence on many styles of music, especially the emerging Techno and House styles that were developing very soon after Electro appeared.
		Electro made no bones about it's futuristic, forward thinking approach to music, using the machine sounds for what they were, rather than using the equipment to mimic live musicians.
