Fury (DC Comics) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Fury was the codename of two DC Comics superheroines, who are mother and daughter.
Originally Fury was Hippolyta "Lyta" Trevor, the daughter of the Golden Age Wonder Woman and Steve Trevor; as a result of this lineage, Lyta had all her mother's powers.
Lyta later adopted the identity of the Fury, named after the Furies of mythology, and was one of the founding members of Infinity Inc., in the book of the same name written by Roy Thomas.

FURY: PEACEMAKER feels like one of Garth Ennis’s Vertigo WAR STORY one-shots, except with Nick Fury and ostensibly set in the Marvel Universe.
After Fury executes his incompetent, cowardly lieutenant (a war movie cliché), he tries to maneuver the remains of his platoon to rear guard for a convoy the Germans have all but checkmated.
Perhaps it’s not his fault, but Fury’s tragedy feels rather blasé and doesn’t grab the reader by the balls like it should.

The final page suggestion that Fury's man enough to have worn out six women comes across as Garth Ennis engaging in flights of fantasy, when it comes to his main character, and it struck me as rather silly.
This opening issue does a good job establishing Fury as a cold-hearted bastard, so here's hoping the rest of the miniseries delivers a threat that makes you glad he's the one facing it.
