The new album, Sticky Fingers was as consistent as it was accomplished, encompassing the bluesy "You Gotta Move", the thrilling "Moonlight Mile", the wistful "Wild Horses" and the chilling "Sister Morphine", one the most despairing drug songs ever written.
The album was severely criticized at the time of its release for its uneven quality but was subsequently re-evaluated favourably, particularly in contrast to their later work.
Nevertheless, the album gave the band their first UK number 1 since 1973 and the title track was a Top 10 hit on both sides of the Atlantic.

This album deftly ensnared the loud, strident energy of their debut and the hook-laden song craft of In Color, leading to their first Top 100 single, "Surrender," which peaked at number 62.
This album also helped in their commercial breakthrough in the U.S. The album stayed on the charts for over a year, peaking at number four, selling over three million copies.
That 1988 album reinvigorated Cheap Trick`s commercial stature when "The Flame," a ballad, reached number one; the album`s cover of Elvis Presley`s "Don`t Be Cruel" also became a Top 5 single.

Fuse originally came together in 1971 after Nielsen found out Rundgren had left The Nazz.

Guitarist Rick Nielsen and bassist Tom Petersson played together in Fuse, whose main claim to fame is a largely forgotten album released on Epic in 1969.
After the demise of Fuse, Nielsen and Petersson plus drummer Bun E. Carlos and former Nazz vocalist Robert Antonioni formed the band Sick Man Of Europe, which, despite a change of venue to Philadelphia and a tour of Europe, had a lackluster and similarly short existence.
They were dropped from the label when the sales of Woke Up With A Monster, their one and only WB album, proved to be less than stellar.

 Planet Mellotron Album Reviews: F
Edgar's next album Stuntman 1979 was a purely digital affair utilising the new digital synthesis technology, although he added analogue synths and a grand piano to it, but left out the Mellotron altogether (put away only to come out briefly on TD's Tangram album at the end of part-two just using the choirs).
Their lone, self-titled album (released in '68 or 9) is actually a monster psychedelic heavy blues record with some killer playing and excellent songs, which will almost certainly colonise my CD player if I give it half a chance (sadly, I don't have the time to do this...).
The album is held together by its inherent jazziness, although that's not to say it's a fusion (ho ho) album; definitely 'prog', whatever you take that to mean.

This album is the soundtrack for the earliest memories I have.
This album sent me down the path of listening to music that I guess would be dubbed ‘alternative’, and led me to discovering a whole cache of music I probably would have never found.
This album is like a big, grey, ominous orchestral storm slowly marching towards a tranquil blue sky, and at times covering it completely with heart-stomping thunderous sheets of melodic noise.

Since the group could only enter the studio for brief amounts of time, most of the songs that compose II are reworked blues and rock and roll standards that the band was performing on-stage at the time.
Expanding on the breakthroughs of III, Zeppelin fuse their majestic hard rock with a mystical, rural English folk that gives the record an epic scope.
The album has a grand sense of drama, which is only deepened by Robert Plant's burgeoning obsession with mythology, religion, and the occult.

Their 1969 debut for Atlantic Records shows a band full of promise and vision, though limited by their own lack of experience, along with a producer who was unsure how to handle the band's innovative sound.
For their second album, Yes (Jon Anderson in particular), decided that instrumental augmentation was needed in order to give the songs the depth they deserved.
This album is truly a progressive rock masterpiece and undoubtedly ranks as the creative hallmark of Yes' career.

Fuse - Self-titled CD/LP Fuse ignited outta the Midwest when rock'n'roll was dangerous and threatening to get heavier as such mavens as Blue Cheer, the Jeff Beck Group, and Vanilla Fudge dropped bombs in concert halls across the globe.
This was 1969, when heavy metal hadn't been coined, and when there were no rules for how to craft hard-rock.
Fuse teetered on the edge of that revolution, holding fast to the heaviest elements of latter-day Yardbirds, yet throwing in British Invasion melodies and Memphis soul.

This strictly post-Terry Knight compilation confirms my belief that they did most of their worthwhile recording with Todd Rundgren, although "Bad Time" and "Some Kind of Wonderful," from their first collaboration with Jimmy Ienner, are definitive plusses.
Recycling riffs, upping the tempos, shuffling their limited vocal resources, and projecting the same populist sincerity that always made them more than a hype, they fuse their heavy beginnings with the hooks they were originally too mythic to bother with on this creditable testament.

The album’s emotional beauty reportedly brought Paul McCartney to tears, in a time when the Beatles and the Beach Boys were both competitors and a mutual inspiration for one another.
It was one of the most talked-about albums in the rock press in late 1966 and early 1967, and reports from journalists who visited Brian in the studio largely confirmed the expectations that this would be one of the most amazing recordings ever.
Even so, these albums were largely unsuccessful with both the public and the critical community, and re-packagings of their surf-and-sun greatest hits consistently sold much better than their new studio albums.
