This is the frequency synthesizer from Hitec that allows the use of all 50 72MHz channels in the U.S. It works with both PPM and PCM receivers and is said to provide longer range checks than the genuine Futaba single channel modules.
I had assumed and have read elsewhere on the Internet that using the Spectra was not "approved" for use in Futaba radios and at least one famous (infamous?) aftermarket receiver manufacturer has suggested that such a combination would not work or at best would transmit off frequency and would be in violation of FCC regulations.
The information I have suggests that by removing the power (desolder the connection in the transmitter?) from the center pin that connects the module to the transmitter the communication problem with Hitec receivers is resolved.
