The National FFA Organization was organized as the "Future Farmers of America" in 1928 in Kansas City, Mo. In 1988, the official organization name was changed to The National FFA Organization to reflect the broadening field of agriculture, which today encompasses more than 300 careers in everything from agriscience to biotechnology to turf grass management.
Founded in 1928, the Future Farmers of America brought together students, teachers and agribusiness to solidify support for agricultural education.
FFA has opened its doors and its arms to minorities and women, ensuring that all students could reap the benefits of agricultural education.

FFA had a membership of 363,000 young men, all interested in continuing the agricultural traditions set forth by the founding members in 1928.
As FFA celebrated its silver anniversary, Eisenhower addressed members at its convention in Kansas City, Mo., and the Post Office Department (as it was called then) issued a commemorative stamp honoring the Future Farmers of America.

 CRHS Future Farmers of America
Henry C. Groseclose, known as the father of FFA, established the FFV, or the Future Farmers of Virginia in the early 1920s for boys.
FFA delegates were first entertained by the FFA Band in 1947, followed by the FFA Chorus and the National Talent program in 1948.
The 25th anniversary of the FFA was recognized in 1953 by a special postage stamp and a visit from the President of the United States, Dwight Eisenhower.
