		It's a historical document and worth owning IF you are a fan of this group called Fuzzbox.
		Fuzzbox's "Big Bang!" was on CD but by that time the band was working in a different direction (not that I didn't like it) and sounded nothing like they do here.
		These BBC sessions are good for the Fuzzbox fan or someone who's curious.

		Now on his latest lo-fi pop epistle, 17th Century Fuzzbox Blues, he defiantly shows that he neither requires nor desires that budget, especially if it means relinquishing the ability to make the kind of wonderfully skewed, unrepentantly off-kilter pop magic that he's chased around for the past five years.
		While Barbeau tends to be known for his somewhat eccentric lyrics and song titles, the music on this disk is very catchy and easliy accessible.
		There's plenty to like on 17th Century Fuzzbox Blues (it is in fact the best thing Barbeau has ever done) and Barbeau should find himself continuing his trend of winning new converts with each release.

		Musically, the songs are built around rudimentary drums and guitar (yes, they do use their fuzzbox), occasional bass and unbridled enthusiasm.
		Along with two songs redone from the EP, the well-played record includes the world's worst version of Norman Greenbaum's "Spirit in the Sky" and a bunch of new originals that waffle between Banglish girl-group harmony pop ("What's the Point," "Love Is the Slug," "You Got Me") and chanted dancebeats.
		Still, it's sad to hear Fuzzbox go straight — though a remake of Yoko Ono's "Walking on Thin Ice" demonstrates a few remaining quirks.
