Focke-Wulf Fw 200 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Model A was a purely civilian plane used by Lufthansa, DDL in Denmark, and Syndicato Condor in Brazil.
The Fw 200B and Fw 200C models were used as long-range bombers, reconnaissance, troop and VIP transport planes.
For reconnaissance it was replaced by the Junkers Ju 290 and as France was invaded maritime reconnaissance became impossible.

Fw 200C-3/U2 This version retained the original type of forward dorsal machine gun position and the MG 151/20 cannon was replaced by a 0.51 in (13 mm) MG 131 trainable forward-firing gun.
Fw 200C-3/U4 The Fw 19 forward dorsal turret was restored and the 2 × 0.312 in (7.92 mm) MG 15 guns in the two beam positions were replaced by 0.51 in (13 mm) MG 131 guns.
The Fw 200/Hs 293 combination was not notably successful after its introduction in December 1943, and by June 1944 most of the surviving Fw 200s had been withdrawn from service as maritime patrol bomber and missile launch platforms for use as transports.

 Revell 1/72 Fw200 Condor
The Condor is a classic looking aircraft that was converted from a pre-war airliner version to perform reconnaissance duties in support of the U-Boat fleet, becoming the valuable airborne eyes to submarine crews by spotting and shadowing Allied shipping convoys, and guiding the U-Boats into ideal torpedo positions.
The Condor itself was primarily operated by KG40 and the plane also carried its own attacks out on shipping, sending vital supplies to the bottom of the ocean and becoming a significant threat to Britain's cross channel shipping supplies.
The Condor could carry bombs on two pylons under each wing as well as in a makeshift bomb-bay constructed as a 'gondola' on the belly of the aircraft.

The Focke-Wulf Fw 200 was a four engine (A commercial airplane that carries passengers) airliner.
From mid-1941 the aircraft were instructed to avoid attacking shipping and avoid all combat in order to preserve numbers, but the arrival of the new escort (A large warship that carries planes and has a long flat deck for take-offs and landings) aircraft carriers was a very serious threat.
The Condor was also used as a transport aircraft, notably flying supplies into (A city in the European part of Russia on the Volga; site of German defeat in World War II in the winter of 1942-43) Stalingrad in 1943.

The Fw 200 Condor was originally designed as a long-range passenger plane and it served in that capacity with several European airlines, but when the Second World War broke out it quickly found its way into wartime usage.
The long range and high endurance of the Fw 200 made it an ideal aircraft for hunting ships in the Atlantic, as it could cruise around for hours on end, looking for targets.
The most obvious difference between the airliner and the military Condor was the addition of the under-fuselage gondola, with guns in front and back and a bomb bay in between.
