  G.E. Rail Car Makes Purchase - New York Times
The General Electric Rail Car Services Corporation, one of the nation's largest rail car leasing companies, said it had completed the purchase of the rail car and the repair facility assets of the North American Car Corporation for about $420 million in cash.
G.E. Rail Car, a subsidiary of the General Electric Credit Corporation, said the assets include about 35,000 rail cars and 14 repair facilities in the United States and Canada.
G.E. Rail Car, which is based in Chicago, said proceeds from the sale would be used to repay about 25 of North American's creditors.
