  GLOCK MODEL 23
Glock's 9mm Parabellum pistol was first introduced to the American public by Soldier of Fortune Magazine almost eight years ago (See "Plastic Perfection," SOF, October '84).
Glock says there are 35, but I count the sights and firing-pin spring cups as two components each.
Glock's only condescension to conventionality is the pistol's method of operation.

Glock responded that no such "orders" exist, the drawings for the ports are the same as the follower, and the request for the plates was irrelevant because the plates have no effect on the pistol's feeding mechanism.
Glock argues that it identified all design changes in the Model 23 pistol, together with the reasons for the changes, but because the Bennetts were unable to identify any design features causally related to the jams, the trial court properly refused broader discovery.
Glock's motion for summary judgment on the negligent design claims was based on its contention that the Bennetts failed to allege or prove the pistol was defective, thereby failing to raise a genuine issue of material fact.

Glock 17, the original 'building block', was the Austrian gun manufacturing company's first handgun and it can be assumed that Glock has sentimental attachments to the basic model.
For this reason, the Glock 23 may not be the most suitable weapon for use in circumstances calling for concealment.
The Glock 23 remains reliably stable in performance and requires very little maintenance in situations where disassembling and cleaning it on a regular basis is not possible.

Glock revolutioned the gun industry the easiest way he knew how: He hired smart people to do it for him.
Glock's first handgun model was the Glock 17, a 40 x 53 mm high-explosive fully-automatic pistol with a magazine capacity of 24 rounds (which was unusually large at the time.) The handgun came with a scope capable of picking out moving targets against a static background with day or night thermal vision.
Some have been so impressed with the Glock's reliability that they have referred to it as the "German AK." Despite the fact that this statement is just plain wrong for at least three different reasons, Gaston Glock only points out the fact that no AK offers an underbarrel lightsaber lug.

Identical in all respects except caliber to the 9mm G19, the 23 was in instant hit with law enforcement and armed citizens alike, and it continues to be one of Glock's hottest selling models nationwide.
It uses a modified GLOCK 20 frame,.45 ACP barrel, modified slide and magazine but these difference are quite minor and it does look identical to a Glock 20.
Glock pistols have a number of secondary advantages - they are among the smallest and lightest self-loaders in 9mm or.40SW.

The purpose of this part is to help center and supports the magazine spring in the center of the magazine tube as it compresses to reduce the possibility of the magazine spring folding over and locking together rendering the magazine and pistol inoperative.

 Glock Model 23 PistolCaliber .
Derided by columnist Jack Anderson as an undetectable terrorist weapon, the Glock Model 17 was immediately proclaimed as "evil" by the usual anti-gun politicians and demands that it be banned from importation commenced.
What they actually accomplished was a massive free publicity campaign for Glock Inc. The Glock pistol has now become one of the most recognized police and civilian defensive sidearms ever made.
Light weight at only 22 ounces and reliable in the extreme, they are capable of holding upwards of 17 rounds of 9mm ammunition and are virtually impervious to weather and abuse.

Outwardly exactly the same as the Glock 17, this version fires the slightly more powerful.40 S&W cartridge at the cost of a losss of two rounds in magazine capacity.
Earlier versions experienced some problems with the magazines, which had a tendency to be slightly unreliable, but in the last years these problems have been resolved.
The Glock 23 is little more than a compact version of the 22, with a somewhat shorter barrel, and lesser magazine capacity.

The glock chambers are designed the way they are to help with reliability due to the larger diameter of the caliber and the angle that they're loaded from.

Glock 23 Review   (Site not responding. Last check: )
Also, since I planned to make the G23 one of my main carry guns, I wanted to have a similar gun in reserve in case my primary went in for custom work or repairs, or was taken as evidence in the (hopefully unlikely) event of a self-defense shooting.
This gun was in near-excellent condition with Meprolight night sights, and still had with it all the trappings that come with a new gun (box, manual, cleaning kit, 2 mags).
And the Glock 23, large enough to have a good capacity and sight radius, yet small enough for the average person to conceal, is the perhaps the ideal launch platform.

 Glock 23 (Robar Custom) Review
Once I had decided to standardize on the 3rd-Generation "FG&R" Glock frame, I sold this gun and sent the 3rd-Gen G23 I had won in a GSSF match to Robar for the same treatment, even though it was a brand-new pistol!
I chose to have the slide, slide internals and frame internals NP3'ed, while the barrel and extractor were done in Roguard for contrast.
As a bonus, neither the NP3 nor the Roguard adversely affects the Glock's Tenifer finish, so the gun is protected with a double layer of corrosion resistance.
