Saab uses the 2675 mm dimension, the Chevy Malibu and Opel Vectra are at 2700 mm, the extended wheelbase Opel is 2840 mm, and the longer Malibu (five-door Maxx) is 2852 mm.
GM says the wheelbase could be stretched a bit more if necessary and it can increase the wheel track dimensions if it needs to in the future.

The F platform, or F-body, was General Motors less-expensive rear wheel drive sports car automobile platform from the 1967 until 2002.
The first F-body cars were produced in 1967, as GMs response to the Ford Mustang, and this type of lightweight, sporty yet inexpensive vehicle became known as pony cars.
The F-body was replaced by the GM V platfrom Holden Monaro-based Pontiac GTO but is not considered a pony car as the Firebird and Camaro were along with its immediate competition: the Ford Mustang, original Mercury (automobile) Cougar, AMC Javelin, Dodge Challenger and Plymouth Barracuda.

Other sources say the Brera is on the GM Epsilon platform, which is already used in the Saab 9-3, Chevrolet Malibu, Pontiac G6, and Opel Vectra.
I tend to believe the Brera is on the GM Premium platform like the 159, but if anybody can corroborate this with better sources than news stories on the web, please let your sources be known.
By the way, when GM pulled Saab out, it meant the platform was tuned for the Alfa which I think is a real bonus.

I'm hoping the new platform will allowthe PT to get better performance numbers at the low end, instead of having to strap on a Turbo or blower.
Mitsu and Chrysler worked on the platform together but it is not a Mitsu platform.
A non blown 172 HP bodes well for the new, not announced turbo engine for the Caliber which could be used in the last year of the old PT platform.
