The GPA is designed to be a source of conceptual and practical guidance to be drawn upon by national and/or regional authorities for devising and implementing sustained action to prevent, reduce, control and/or eliminate marine degradation from land-based activities.
The GPA aims at preventing the degradation of the marine environment from land-based activities by facilitating the duty of States to preserve and protect the marine environment.

 Academic Probation-Calculate GPA
A student may repeat a course in which a grade of D+, D, D- or F once to improve their GPA up to a limit of 12 units of repeated work.
The original course is given a special code to signal that the course is repeated later on the record; this code blocks the units attempted for repeat from being included in the units attempted, but allows the additional grade points to count.
Students experiencing academic difficulty are urged to see a college adviser to discuss the extent of the GPA deficit and strategies for clearing this deficit within the probationary term.

If I had to describe GPA in one sentence, I would say that it is in-between OPS and Baseball Prospectus' Equivalent Average, combining a mixture of most of the ease and simplicity of OPS and a portion of the value of EqA.
I received a ton of feedback on the stat, the majority of which came from people who, like me, think GPA can be a nice alternative to other stats out there.
GPA is still in its infancy and perhaps if it becomes more popular an in-depth database will be created.

I don't doubt that (edited out) is a very difficult school, and that your cohort of class-mates are extremely intelligent, which probably puts you at a disadvantage in the grading scheme.
However, there is no way for a Canadian school to determine what a 3.65 GPA at (edited out) school would be worth when translated into a Canadian university's terms.
After all, they are only interested in seeing that you can academically handle the pace of their curriculums, which they apparently weren't convinced by your current transcript.
