On Monday August 16th GPTV Producer Frank Loose and his son Jeff acting as his assistant joined the crew of Gray's Reef for a cruise out to the reef to document on going paleo-archaeological surveys.
Marine Educator Cathy Sakas creator and co-producer of the GPTV series assisted in the underwater filming directing shots and guiding the crew to representative spots on the reef.
The GPTV series is an in depth look at the relationship of the coastal people to their land and how they have managed to keep it one of the wildest coastlines in the country despite pressure to develope.

In 1965, the university and the board merged their efforts as Georgia Educational Television (GETV).
It became Georgia Public Television (GPTV) in 1982, a year after the state legislature transferred authority for the stations to the Georgia Public Telecommunications Commission, the oversight board for GPB.
In 1984, the Commission entered public radio for the first time, starting stations in Macon and Columbus.

Students from 15 states did just that when former President Jimmy Carter and Rosalynn Carter answered their questions by satellite on Georgia Public Television (GPTV).

Munson was scheduled to do play by play on the Class AAAA semifinals at the Georgia Dome last Friday and Saturday, but was ill and withdrew from those duties, GPTV said last Thursday.
Herb White of GPTV talked with Munson on Monday and confirmed his participation, GPTV publicist Jennifer Hunt Dempsey said.
Munson will team with former Atlanta Falcons offensive lineman Jeff Van Note on the Class AAA final Friday at 7 p.m., between Burke County and Thomasville at Thomasville, Ga., and the Class AAAA final Saturday at 7 p.m., between Tift County and Parkview at Atlanta.

On May 27, 2005 I birded near the GPTV tower to try to find out how many Worm-eating Warblers were breeding in the area.
I found two different pairs (4 birds) along the creek near the location where I found the babies back in 2003.
