		Hayes was born in Wellsville, New York, and did not come from a cowboy background.
		Hayes was also repeatedly cast as a sidekick to western icons Randolph Scott and John Wayne.
		Gabby Hayes died from cardiovascular disease in Burbank, California in 1969 and was interred in the Forest Lawn - Hollywood Hills Cemetery in Los Angeles.
