In 1828 Moore was elected to the Alabama Senate and was serving as the president of that body in 1831.
Samuel Moore was elected once again to the State Senate in 1834 and served as its president in 1835.

Gabriel Moore was born in 1785 in Stokes County, North Carolina.
Moore served in the territorial legislatures, was elected to represent Alabama in the US Congress in 1821 and was re-elected in 1827.
Moore was a strong Jacksonian who disliked the "tariff of abominations," but opposed South Carolina in the "nullification crisis." Moore was also opposed to the re-chartering of the US Bank.

Gabriel explained that the town was moving forward but encountered an obstacle when they found out that easements on approximately 70 properties could not be done under one survey.

Moore represented Madison County in the Mississippi Territorial Assembly from 1811 to 1817, and he served as its speaker from 1815 to 1817.

Esther Moore, 89, died Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2005, at her home, Hearthstone Manor, in Woodstock, surrounded by members of the loving staff who cared for her there for the last five years of her life.
She married Charles T. Moore on May 31, 1940, in a midnight ceremony in St. Louis, Mo. He died in 2004.
