Yolande Martine Gabrielle de Polastron, comtesse de Polignac (September 8, 1749–December 9, 1793) was a French aristocrat and friend of Marie Antoinette, whom she first met at Versailles in 1775.
The entire Polignac family benefitted enormously from the queen's generosity with the queen spending extravagantly on the family, but their increasing wealth outraged many aristocratic families, who felt they didn't deserve it.
Yolande was the mother of Jules, prince de Polignac, who became Prime Minister when the Comte d'Artois became King of France in 1824.

On 3rd September 1792 she returned to France from England to stay near to the Royal family, but she was killed; her body was lacerated and her head stuck on a spike, was shown to Marie Antoinette from the Temple's window where the Queen was incarcerated.
Yolande Martine Gabrielle de Polastron, Countess and after Duchess of Polignac (1749-1793), married the Duke Jules de Polignac, but she was never faithful to her husband, and she betrayed him with the Duke de Vaudreuil.

The first governess was the Princess de Guémenée, who was later replaced by the queen's closest friend – Gabrielle de Polastron, comtesse de Polignac.
The new royal governess was the devoutly Catholic, Louise-Elisabeth, Marquise de Tourzel, whose daughter Pauline became the princess's life-long friend.
There was an uprising in 1830 in which the Royal Family were betrayed by their cousin, Louis-Philippe who insinuated that Charles had abdicated absolutely (he had actually nominated his grandson Henri, comte de Chambord as king.)
