But the US comics stayed pretty much in the present for the most part, as opposed to the UK comics doing stories taking place in the "future" after the movie.
Generation 2 was a US comic (although there was a UK comic also, but I don' believe it was by Marvel UK, and I haven't heard anything good about it).
The US comic was written by Furman, widely considered the best TF comic writer (he could even make the fucking Pretenders interesting), and drawn by a number of people of varying degrees of talent.

Black Furies presents a tale of loss; Bone Gnawers is one of comic relief and horrific consequences, while Children of Gaia presents the warrior side of the peaceful tribe in a tale connecting to returning to a balance with Gaia.
The comical styles of Steve Ellis lends a sense of unreality to the humorous Bone Gnawers tale, though not taking any savagery away from the grisly event in the story.
Children of Gaia’s dream-like comic ties nicely to the sense of wonder that can be had in the Werewolf setting, also tying into the underpinnings of what makes a Garou a Garou.
