		GUJRANWALA, April 12: Some 500 telephone numbers of Gakkhar digital telephone excha-nge became silent on Saturday as underground cables were badly damaged by the National High-way and Motorway Police during the widening of the GT Road.
		A spokesman of Gakkhar telephone exchange said the damaged underground cables were being repaired by technicians.
		Meanwhile, several manholes of Gakkhar municipality were also damaged during the operation.

	Gakkhar RHC MO suspended: ‘Humiliating’ MPA -DAWN - National; April 4, 2003
		GUJRANWALA, April 3: Gakkhar Rural Health Centre in-charge Dr Muhammad Akram Bagri was suspended from service on Thursday on the charge of humiliating an MPA.
		Talking to Dawn, MPA Mian Mazher Javed said the medical officer had a case registered against him on the basis of a fake medico-legal certificate which he would challenge in a court of law.
