In 1934 Dalí and Gala, having lived together since 1929, were married in a civil ceremony.
In 1960 Dalí began work on the Teatro-Museo Gala Salvador Dalí in his home town of Figueres; it was his largest single project and the main focus of his energy through 1974.
He moved from Figueres to the castle in Pubol which he had bought for Gala and was the site of her death.

While Ernst and Eluard work on their joint project, The Misfortunes of the Immortals, the two Eluards and Ernst establish an open three-sided relationship which excludes Luise.
In the Eluard house in Eaubonne, Ernst painted At the First Clear Word and other murals that covered the walls, and at least two of the doors, all of which were covered over for decades by subsequent owners, and then removed and placed on exhibit after their rediscovery -- like cave paintings!
1969 -- The murals from Eluard's house are discovered, restored, and taken to Paris.
