Section 76.61(a) of the rules provides that a television station that believes a cable operator has failed to meet its carriage obligations shall notify the cable operator in writing of the alleged failure and identify its reasons for believing the operator is obligated to carry the station's signal.
Galaxy asserts that the complaint fails to disclose that Paxson had previously requested carriage on its cable system by letters dated September 30, 1996 or that those earlier must carry requests were denied by letters dated January 6, 1997.
Galaxy defended against this must carry complaint solely in reliance on the rejected theory that the complaint was untimely filed.

Note: The plots of the television and radio series are more or less the same as that of the first two novels, though some of the events occur in a different order and many of the details are changed.
The theme tune used for the radio, television and LP versions is "Journey of the Sorcerer", an instrumental piece by The Eagles from the album One of These Nights.
The complexities of adapting the material for television meant that each episode was 35 minutes in length, and some of the best jokes from the radio series had to be cut.

 'Galaxy': Sci-fi satire
The disgruntled thespians and a "Galaxy" bit actor are, without full comprehension of the situation, taken aboard a spaceship to lead the battle against the army of a huge, intimidating reptile of extraterrestrial origin.
In "Galaxy," however, a teenager who has devoted his life to the series and is at one point rebuffed by "Commander Taggart" for asking an abstruse question about the spaceship NSEA Protector, comes up with the critical information that saves the good guys in the end.
While "Galaxy" is not, by any means, an intellectual film, it may be too clever for moviegoers who are exclusively interested in action and special effects.

Galaxy Quest Movie Review at Hollywood Video
In DreamWorks' family-friendly holiday distraction, "Galaxy Quest" is the name of a '70s sci-fi TV show styled remarkably like Roddenberry's original series.
Galaxy Quest is billed as a "science fiction-action-comedy," and although it isn't especially exciting, the deep space effects are far superior to the intended cheapness of the interior sets and costumes.
That is, until the day Mathesar (Enrico Colantoni) and his crew appear to inveigle Nesmith — "Captain Peter Quincy Taggart" — to help them in their battle against enemy aliens led by the aggressively evil Sarris (Robin Sachs).

The floor of the convention center is crowded with fans in costume who have come from far and near to hear former television stars recite old dialogue.
It's a world unto itself, one that sustains the former cast members of the television series "Galaxy Quest." Like "Star Trek" before it, "Galaxy Quest" was a moderately successful show that has proven more popular in syndication, where it has taken on a life of its own.
Even though they deplore their current situation, the former television stars depend on their convention appearances and store openings to sustain their egos and pocketbooks.

If "Galaxy Quest" never attains consistently giddy heights as it plays out its combination of knowing satire and heroic adventure, it nevertheless keeps its tongue firmly in its cheek, offers a few genuine laughs, moves swiftly, if not at warp speed, and is led by a talented cast.

The Marvel Battlestar Galactica Comics   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-20)
Despite this problem, the Marvel series had great potential because comics were better equipped for science fiction stories than television was back in 1978 (unlike today when relatively inexpensive CGI special effects allow television to do sci-fi/fantasy series such as Bablyon 5, Xena, and Hercules that wouldn't have been possible even 10 years earlier).
The range of stories in the Galactica television series were limited because there was not enough time on a weekly TV schedule to shoot special effects scenes.
What's frustrating is that Marvel does things that the television series should have done -- the compelling Sire Uri sticks around and is the perfect foil for Adama -- Boomer, Athena, and Jolly are each featured in their own individual stories -- yet it fails to do them in a compelling fashion.
