Born in 1840, Redon had produced more than half of his lithographic oeuvre before he was given his first retrospective, at the Galerie Durand-Ruel in the spring of 1894.

Monet continued to exhibit with the Impressionists on an irregular basis, choosing also to show his work at the Salon in 1880, in a solo exhibition at Galerie Durand-Ruel in Paris in 1883, and at several of Georges Petit’s Expositions Internationales de Peinture.
By 1890, Monet was financially secure enough to purchase a house at Giverny, later adding adjacent land and installing both the water-lily garden and Japanese bridge he would famously paint in series.
Oscar-Claude Monet was born November 14, 1840, in Paris.

The Galerie Miethke, the Durand-Ruel of Vienna, had upon the death of its founder, sought artistic policy advice from Moll who seemed to have the ambition to run the gallery as a commercial outlet for Secession artists.
The mayor of Vienna, Karl Lueger was in favor of the enterprise for a new building and Rudolf Mayreder, Julius' brother, was on Vienna's city council.
Its self-advertised purpose in the programme was 'to serve the cause of a true entertainment-culture by means of an organized, unified synthesis of all relevant artistic and hygienic elements.' This became the new haunt of the circle which had frequented the Cafe Central including Bahr and the poet Peter Altenberg, friend of Warndorfer.

Cézanne didn't participate in the group second exhibit, galerie Durand-Ruel, rue Le Peletier, in 1876, which hold 24 Degas and works from Berthe Morisot, Claude Monet, Auguste Renoir, Pissarro, Sisley and Frédéric Bazille.
The principal Impressionist painters were Claude Monet, Pierre Auguste Renoir, Camille Pissarro, Alfred Sisley, Berthe Morisot, Armand Guillaumin, and Frédéric Bazille, who worked together, influenced each other, and exhibited together independently.
The last three will meet in Paris in the free Gleyre studio, and in 1863 they will discover a porcelain painter, Auguste Renoir.

In November 1892 Galerie Durand-Ruel exhibited some 25 landscapes in monotype and pastel by Degas.
Degas has abandoned his Ingres inspired draughtsmanship – precise contour lines are replaced by bold, broad masses of color.
The works produced for this exhibition were Degas’ most accomplished and exquisite in this medium.
