The longtime partnership has been very helpful to The Gallup Poll as it put us "back big" fifteen years ago when our famous Gallup Poll had lost most of its national coverage.
We believe with this new found independence, we will get covered by more broadcast media because we are not the poll of their competitor.
We have to boldly change and invent new futures for Gallup or we will not survive the hurricane of competition coming from all directions in everything we do.

In July 1999, The Gallup Organization had a poll on its website that contained the following results of their abortion polls which showed that almost half of all Americans, 48% of them, view abortion as murder, and only 45% do not.
A partial explanation is the way Gallup presented this data on that date, and continues almost two years later to present it.
The Gallup Organization is a professional enough organization that it knows how to frame a question to get the desired response, and how to present the data to confuse the issue.

Wyatt Ehrenfels Exposes Questionable Hiring Practices at Gallup Organization
I mean, the second most time-efficient way to collect data would require Gallup officials to solicit the cooperation of university faculty in the hopes students in large survey courses (e.g., Psych 101) would agree to complete the questionnaire in exchange for course credit (or for extra credit).
The methodology employed by Gallup, while perfectly suited to the measurement of its strengths, is not a substantive approach to the exploration of the personality by any stretch of the imagination.
Other organizations use similar algorithms in hiring, but you would not know it because it is not the sole basis of hiring and, if it were, it need not be "unpleasant" or "unproductive." I have personally been turned down for jobs but have learned a great deal in the process of being a candidate.
