Distinctive though they are, the lights, are the weakest element of the stadium, probably because their original and more interesting (and more costly) curved form had to be amended late in the design.
Others are the airport-style metal-clad stadium control room, perched in the north-west corner, and the turnstile blocks, which echo elements of the main design.
Behind it lies a car park and a golf driving range, which with the Lawrence Batley's hospitality areas ensures that this is a stadium not solely dependent on the fortunes of its resident teams.

Like the rest of the stadium, the facilities are excellent, with up to 4,000 fans accommodated, and the view of the pitch also very good.

The first picture on the left was taken on 9th April 2004 & sees me at the Galpharm Stadium, the home of Huddersfield Town.
Just a stones throw from Junction 1 of the M5 Motorway, there is a special gate at the stadium, dedicated to the WBA legend, Jeff Astle, who passed away in 2002.
They are planning to move to a new stadium near Lakeside Village (the old Yorkshire Outlet shopping centre), which is about a mile & a half South from the present Belle Vue ground towards the end of 2006.

Huddersfield Giants have unveiled plans for their game against St Helens at the Galpharm Stadium this Sunday, the 24th April (3:00pm).
A Senior Citizen and any number of children (within Primary School Education) can have an afternoon of entertainment with the Giants at the Galpharm Stadium for a combined price of just £9 if tickets are pre purchased before the day of the game.

As parking is extremely difficult in the town centre we are running a shuttle bus service from the Galpharm Stadium car park (home of Huddersfield Town FC) which is approximately 1 mile away from campus.
Should you be arriving for the Open Day after 10.00 am it is highly recommended that you use the Galpharm Stadium car park.
Visitors using the Galpharm car park are advised to ensure that no valuables are left in their vehicles and that vehicles are adequately secured.

On Wednesday, 21st June 2006 the Wakefield Road and main Queensgate car park on University campus will be available for visitor parking, however this will still be limited due to expected numbers of attendance.

Following the expiration of the 10-year deal of the McAlpine sponsorship of the Town stadium in July 2004, it was announced on July 30 2004 that Galpharm would become the new sponsors of the stadium that hosts home matches for Huddersfield Town AFC.
Although the Leeds Road ground is now gone and replaced with the new home - The Galphram Stadium - there is a brass plaque in the car park of the retail park, built on the grounds of the old stadium which signifies the centre spot of Leeds Road.
This was said to be in keeping with the times and to make merchandise easier to produce and to make slicker looking promotional material.
