| | Preseason Summary: Gamba Osaka |
 | | After a decade of disappointment, and a number of close calls which left the team ruing its own inability to perform in the clutch, Gamba Osaka finally reached the peak of sucess, with a stirring victory on the final day of the 2005 season to claim their first league title. |
 | | Yet oddly enough, we have seen a number of football pundits give Gamba high marks for their offseason moves, while lambasting the lack of action at Chiba, Kashima, and the other side of Osaka, with the withering critique that "they havent changed anything since last year". |
 | | Given the level of competition, and the added burden of Asian matches, we think that Gamba will finish out of the money this season, though they probably have a good shot at claiming one of the cup titles, particularly considering the bye that they will receive as a result of their ACL responsibilities. |
