The hardware in the Game Boy Player is the same as a Game Boy Advance without the screen or batteries.
A special Game Boy Player for the Panasonic Q GameCube/DVD player had to be made due to the Q's legs.

I was slightly disappointed in the gameboy player but overall its a nice device to have in the home to experience the gameboy games on a larger screen (your TV!).
This is a big one for me: The games resolution on a TV is a bit worse than on the gameboy itself but this problem is unavoidable.
A great substitute for a person who doesn't on a GBA but has the games, has lost a GBA, had their GBA stolen, or has to share their GBA; their sibling is playing the GBA, and you can play your GBA games on the TV.
