Guilty Gear Isuka Review - GamersHell.com
Video games are at a point in which certain social and political issues are playing an important role in the development of characters and environments.
The sequel reaches deeper into the Guilty Gear universe, where a mysterious form of energy dubbed “magic” is used to create biological weapons known as “gears”.
In it's easiest mode, Guilty Gear Isuka is a rather breezy adventure, but in it's normal and hard modes, one can't help but feel exploited by the game's one miserable feature: having to push a button to turn around.

I own a Game Gear, and while it does rock, its need to have 6 AA batteries and only 4 hours battery life, not to mention the awful screen blur does not mean I am pulling it out of the garage anytime soon.
The Game Gear had the best peripherals ever, there was one that allowed you to watch TV and another that showed what you were playing on any TV in the area that was picking up off-air TV.

Despite these control issues, the quick pacing of the game survives and functions well enough to retain the game's enjoyable gameplay, and that which greatly adds to this pacing greatly, as mentioned earlier, are the game's mid-air dash maneuvers and Instant Kill attacks.
The game's mid-air dash is a nice maneuver that allows players to move quickly to either side of screen.
The game also features a semi-interesting Story mode you can take characters through to experience a handful of still images and subtitled spoken dialogue, which tosses players into the game's stories and back-stories for each character.

When you start out the game, you are able to place 30 cards in your "deck" (which you can compile through the "Intermission" screens between stages of the game), but as the game continues that number will rise higher and higher, allowing for a more customized deck.

The TV Tuner turned it into a full-color portable TV, the multi-link cable allowed for more than one Game Gear to be connected together and the Master Gear converter allowed Master System games to be played on it.

Game Card games tended to be smaller and not as sophisticated as cartridge-based games due to physical constraints, but that also meant that they would tend to be considerably cheaper than their larger cousins.
Game Gear did moderately well in Sega's traditional strongholds, the U.S. and European markets, but it hardly made a blip on the screen in Japan and Asia.
Game Gear died a quiet death, its passing mourned by few save its fans, and with that the 8-bit chapter in Sega's videogame console history came to its official end.

Kikizo Games: PS2 Review: Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence
Lastly, the game also featured a health system that had players maintaining Snake's stamina by having him live off the land with food captured out in the wild, as well as tending to his injuries by utilizing various medical supplies tucked away in his trusty ol' survival pack.
While the graphics of Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence have remained virtually untouched from that of Snake Eater, thanks to the new 3rd person camera, players are provided with a closer view of the game's beautifully modeled and richly detailed environments as they make their way through the game's dense jungle setting.
In addition to the game's great visuals which still hold up quite well a year and a half after the release of Snake Eater, the audio portion of the game also remains on the impressive side with natural environmental sounds helping to bring the game's Soviet jungle to life.

Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence Review
Released in early 2005, Metal Gear Solid 3 took gamers back to the height of the Cold War as the origins of Big Boss were explored first-hand, and the background to The Patriots (La-li-lu-le-lo) was revealed.
Very little of Subsistence affects the actual Snake Eater game that was released in Europe in Spring 2005, aside from the addition of a 3rd-person camera that lays the foundation for Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.
Subsistence brings further substance to the Metal Gear Solid 3 experience thanks to its multiplayer mode, and the MSX versions of both Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, though much of the rest of the bonus features are nothing more than icing on a very rich and more-ish cake.

The game's mechanics are pleasantly addictive enough, but after a handful of sessions with the Game Gear edition I found myself more surprised by the artistry of the game's background music.
Instead of utilizing the standard generic clay block background of the arcade and Genesis version, the Game Gear version opts for something a bit more scenic: the backdrop for the introductory level simply details a washed out sky and the grey rooftops of a densely populated town.
Admittedly this sudden shift in attention away from the game's pieces to its background visuals and soundtrack nearly caused me to fumble and lose my current game, but I wouldn't trade that moment for the largest combo-chain in the world.
