Gamma Andromedae - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Gamma Andromedae (γ And / γ Andromedae) is a four star system in the constellation Andromeda.
The brighter of these is known to be a spectroscopic binary itself, with an orbital period of 2.67 days.
In the Foundation novels by Isaac Asimov, the star Gamma Andromedae is a populated star system, Gamma Andromeda.

Andromeda (constellation) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Andromeda is a constellation named for the princess Andromeda (which is Greek for Ruler over men), a character in Greek mythology.
The most famous deep sky object in Andromeda is M31, the Andromeda Galaxy, one of the most distant objects visible to the naked eye (M33 is slightly farther).
If fainter stars, visible to the naked eye, in the constellation are considered, then the constellation takes the form of a stick-figure woman, with a prominent belt (as has the constellation Orion), where one arm has something long attached to it, giving the appearance of a female warrior holding a sword.

 Andromedia Galaxy & Constellation
The Andromeda Galaxy (also known as Messier Object 31, M31, or NGC 224; older texts often call it the Andromeda Nebula) is a giant spiral galaxy in the Local Group, together with the Milky Way galaxy.
The Andromeda Galaxy is easily visible to the naked eye in a truly dark sky; however, such a truly dark sky is available only in relatively few, isolated areas very far from population centers and sources of light pollution.
In Greek mythology, Andromeda was the daughter of Cepheus and Cassiopeia, king and queen of Ethiopia.

None of the superforms is consistently the same image to image, which I am assuming is due to different frequencies and medias used to capture the image, it is probably tied to exposure time in that the dim medias comprising the superform seem really dim.
The Andromeda superform is not inconsistent with a partial elliptical galaxy such as the Sombrero (3d-somb1.htm, 3d-sombr.htm, sombre-2.htm) whose halo is shallow and diffuse and tilted (lower foreground slanting through the middle to upper half canted rearward) with a strong central disk which is thin and spread out in a wide cross sectional area.
The above view is from the Hunter Andromeda original and is unenhanced, Hunter has acquired the details within M110 with enough resolution that any attempt to enhance this image produces many results inside the mantle which become less clearly seen in overeruption of the bright center.

The team presented evidence that the Andromeda galaxy is comprised of a vast, extended stellar disk that makes the galaxy more than 220,000 light-years in diameter.
The researchers also determined that the outer fringes of the Andromeda galaxy show evidence that it may have been the result of satellite galaxies long ago slamming together.
Large infrared telescopes like those at the W. Keck Observatory are ideal for the study of gamma ray bursts and their environments because they can keep measuring the burst's afterglow weeks to months after the afterglow fades to undetectable levels for other telescopes.
