		Gamvik township has aproximately 1.200 inhabitants and lies east on Nordkynhalvøya and covers a area of 1.413,0 km2.
		The township is devided into three with the administrative centre Mehamn with aproximately 850 inhabitants, Gamvik with approximately 250 and Skjånes with approximately 210.
		Commercial fishing has a long tradition in Gamvik and a lot of people are dependent on fish as their main source of income.
