  Gandhi's Ashram
While his political views were yet unformed, Gandhi’s immediate problem was to settle the small band of relatives and associates in the South African struggle who had cast their lot in with him.
Gandhi was Bapu, the father of the household, Kasturba was Ba, the mother.
Gandhi ruled the ashram but his authority in the ashram, as well as in the rest of the country, was moral.

 MY MOTHERLAND - INDIA
A call for new leadership brought Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi to the forefront, and it was through Gandhi that India was to get her first tricolour.
Gandhi suggested the addition of a white stripe to symbolize the rest of India's communities, and a charkha (spinning wheel) to symbolize the masses of India.
The flag then unfurled had a band of deep saffron to symbolize courage and sacrifice, a band of white imprinted with a blue charkha for truth, and a band of dark green for faith and chivalry.

Gandhi’s Lunchbox owed The Queers some respect in those days, but not anyone else, and they had great fun in their roles as iconoclasts of a smug arts fiefdom that existed on the Seacoast at the same time they did.
Between The Buddy Miles Express and that incarnation of the Smokers, and between The Circle Jerks and Gandhi’s Lunchbox, I honestly had to assess the entertainment in Portsmouth as mindful as the caliber I was used to in San Francisco.
Gandhi’s Lunchbox sounded great last Friday, Colletta remembered a lot of the words and overcame hip bursitis and a voice that got trashed at the one rehearsal the band put together before the show.

While all the band members had used pseudonyms on all the previous releases and continued the tradition with Potemkin City Limits, in September 2005, G7 Welcoming Committee had jokingly announced that Chris had left the band in 2003, and the remaining members had found a replacement in one Glen Lambert, formerly of the Portage Terriers.
