The Anson Blakes retained 10.5 acres around their house while Edwin's house was left with a two acre parcel leaving the remaining land to be divided into small housing lots.
Blake deeded their house and garden to the University of California, "reserving unto themselves and the survivor of them the right to occupy the property for life.
Blake in 1962, the house and garden passed to the university.

The 200 acres estate of William Warren Orcutt and Mary Logan Orcutt known as Rancho Sombre del Robie, "ranch shaded by the oak," in the twenties, later became Orcutt Ranch Park in West Hills, California, when it was purchased by the Los Angeles City Recreation and Parks Department, in 1966.
Consequently, a live-in gardener was hired to care for the property in his absence.
