Royal Yorkshire Yacht Club |
 | | On Friday 20th June, 17 RYYC Members assembled at The Royal Northern and Clyde Yacht Club, an imposing stone built victorian pile, standing in 20 acres of lawn and rhododendron, set on a headland overlooking Rhu marina and the Clyde to the south, and the club jetty and moorings in the Gareloch, to the north. |
 | | Meanwhile, back in Scotland, Friday night was spent at a noisy and somewhat over-priced Italian restaurant in Helensburgh with a number of the Gareloch members, a precursor to the more serious business of yacht racing on the Saturday, which dawned fair, with a nice breeze of 10-12 knots. |
 | | As the Gareloch boat fell back in the dirty air, a Gallic curse was heard from her crew, and we knew we had our friends by the throat. |
