We entered the first lock up the river and tied up close to the front, but we only did that once, as the water coming in to fill up the lock is very boisterous and the boat gets rocked around quite a bit despite holding ropes around bollards both fore and aft.
We stopped for an hour or so at the moorings at Serignac sur Garonne for a lunch of melon and proschetto (thin smoked ham) on board, beautiful it was, and then passed through the final locks and over the aqueduct over the Garonne River and into Agen arriving about 4.30pm.
The canal is interesting and the river very pretty and picturesque almost totally enclosed in trees and bush along much of the sides, a lot of bird life and quite a lot of fish life as well.
