Garry Lee Maddox (born September 9, 1949 in Cincinnati, Ohio) is a former center fielder in Major League Baseball who was known for outstanding defense.
Maddox was drafted by the San Francisco Giants in the second round of the 1968 amateur draft, missed a season due to military service in the Vietnam War, and reached the major leagues with the Giants in 1972.
Maddox continued to win Gold Gloves, steal bases and hit well for the Phillies until 1986, when a terrible slump led him to retire early in the season.
