Notes: Garston Dock Station started life as the western terminus of the PST Helens and Runcorn Gap Railways line from Widnes to Garston which opened on 1.7.1852 and finished life as the southern terminus of the LMS Liverpool Lime Street to Garston Dock line.
When the line opened passengers were carried forward to Liverpool by horse drawn omnibuses a state of affairs that could never compete with the LNWR Liverpool to Manchester Line.
To address this on the 1.6.1864 an extension was opened by the Garston and Liverpool Railway which ran to a terminus closer to the city at Brunswick.
