		Gary Rossington (born December 4, 1951 in Jacksonville, Florida) is a founding member and guitarist of Southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd.
		Rossington formed the band as a teenager with friends Ronnie Van Zant, Allen Collins, Larry Junstrom and Bob Burns in the summer of 1964.
		Gary Rossington still plays with a reformed Lynyrd Skynyrd to this day; he and keyboardist Billy Powell are the only remaining members of the original lineup.

		Gary even named it "Berniece" after his mother (Naming a guitar is nothing new, BB King christened his Lucille, and Albert King’s Flying V was Lucy) He uses is constantly to record and tour, together with the '61 SG/Les Paul he uses to play the slide part on Freebird.
		Gary started by playing with the slide on his "pinky" but found it awkward to do, so eventually he modified his technique to playing with it on his middle finger.
