There are six Gasherbrum Peaks and Gasherbrum II, (8035 meters), is the second highest peak among the Gasherbrum Peaks on the Karakoram range.Gasherbrum in local language means "Shining Wall".
Gasherbrum IV is (3,050m high) one of the six Gasherbrum Peaks in the Karakorum range.
It was in 1958 that a strong Italian expedition led by Riccardo Cassin climbed Gasherbrum IV Peak 7925m/ 26,000ft through north ridge, after over-coming great climbing difficulties.

Gasherbrum II (8035m) is the 13th highest mountain in the world.
We had not planned to use fixed ropes, we did not event have ropes to fix, as we would have liked to climb in a clean way, but they were there.
The route followed the highly crevassed Gasherbrum Glacier, with G-I or Hidden Peak (8065m) on the right, G-II, G-III and G-IV at the end of the glacier, and G-V and G-VI on the left side of it.
