Cheryl Gates McFadden (born March 2, 1949), usually credited as Gates McFadden, is an American (A native or inhabitant of the United States) actress (A female actor) and choreographer (Someone who creates new dances).
She appeared briefly in the Woody Allen (United States filmmaker and comic actor (1935-)) film Stardust Memories (additional info and facts about Stardust Memories), and in The Hunt for Red October as Jack Ryan (additional info and facts about Jack Ryan) 's wife Cathy, though most of her scenes were cut in post-production.
As of August 2004, Gates was living in the south of France restoring an old theater.
