The idea was to re-develop Gateshead town centre and create a huge shopping complex with indoor and outdoor shops and many parking spaces available for its customers.
Unfortunatley, the Gateshead centre never really took off as expected but it still had good shopping facilities for most, and still has today.
Unfortunately, the owners of the complex have obtained outline planning permmision to redevelop the site, which means that the centre will be knocked down in the near future.
