Autoroute 5 (also called Autoroute de la Gatineau) is a short Autoroute in the Outaouais region of western Quebec.
It connects the central urban area of Gatineau (formerly Hull) with the recreational areas of Gatineau Park and the exurban/rural areas of Chelsea and La Peche.
There are actually two segments of A-5: the main segment is a freeway that continues for 21 km (13 miles) from the Macdonald-Cartier Bridge to a short access road to Route 105 in the northern part of Chelsea.

Gatineau Park won't be made into a national park because Quebec won't transfer its property to the federal government, according to Parks Canada officials and documents obtained by the Citizen.
Dion, Parks Canada officials acknowledged there are "significant challenges" in turning Gatineau Park into a national park, including purchasing privately owned land within its boundaries as well as negotiating with the Quebec government for its portion.
The park is currently managed under the National Capital Act, which does not prohibit industrial or commercial uses or the disposing of park lands for development, according to the memo.

I began exploring the idea of a group "Friends of Gatineau Park" along with Anneke Schwarz of Ottawa and Jean-Marc Purenne, an advisor with l'Unité régionale de loisir et de sport de l'Outaouais in Hull, in 1997.
I was attracted to the idea of creating such an organization because of my long experience and enjoyment of the park, and my volunteer work with the educational program of the Museum of Nature.
My hope for the Friends of Gatineau Park is that it will become successful in gaining public support to provide volunteers and financing for many worthwhile interpretive projects in the park.

The plants are near a parking lot up the creek from the Gatineau Park Visitor Centre and close to Meech Lake Road, used by Prime Minister Paul Martin and thousands of others.
Murray said the plants are in a valley once owned by Roderick Percy Sparks, a man he said played a far more influential role in founding Gatineau Park than prime minister William Lyon Mackenzie King, who is still more widely regarded as the park's founder.

What I liked: the trails in the gatineau park are absolutely beautiful, i have been to jsaper and banff national parks and the trails in the gatineau park are just as beautiful!
Comments: the park is absolutely beautiful but there are other things near by worth looking at, canoe trips down the gatineau river are definately recomended.
Also the steam trail from hull to wakefield along the gatineau river is absolutly beautiful in the fall.
