"Gaudí" by Gijs van Hensbergen - Salon
Gaud, as conservative as he was, drew heavily from dreams, religion, mythology and his own obviously intense but stifled emotional life, though it's highly unlikely he was sympathetic to the ideas of either the surrealists or Freud.
One of the contradictions of Gaud's life is that as he grew ever more conservative in his personal philosophy and more fanatical in his Catholicism, his architecture became more eccentric and flamboyant, not less.
Gaud did what Goya and El Greco had done before him -- illustrated precisely the plastic reality of the spiritual world." And he did it in a way that even those who may be immersed in the sexy, whimsical material world still find fascinating.

Raga Gaud Sarang - An Exegesis
A discussion on Raga Gaud Sarang is presented in this essay and the development fortified by a smorgasbord of representative sound clips.
"Gaud Sarang" is a misnomer because there is no trace whatsoever of the Sarang Raganga anywhere within driving distance of its zipcode (this is obvious to all except the boneheaded few who insist on seeing 'Sarang' in its fold).
The kernel of Gaud Sarang is universally recognized: how one goes about developing it is a matter of Gharanic affiliation, individual taste and capacity.
