		Gantlet track, a section of two railroad tracks that overlap to allow them to pass a narrow bridge or tunnel in little more than the space of one track.
		Running the Gauntlet refers to a corporal punishment in which people armed with sticks or other weapons arrange themselves in two lines facing each other and beat the subject, who is forced to run between them - see the Roman antecedent fustuarium.
		A gauntlet, on an animal such as a cat or rabbit, is the white markings on one or more of their legs, looking like they have a long white glove on.

		Gantlet tracks are commonly used when a rail line's capacity is increased with the addition of an additional track, but cost or other factors prevent the widening of the bridges.
		Gantlet track is typically used for short stretches of track where it is cheaper to provide extra rails than to provide switches and reduce the line to single track.
