		Parking on Gawber Road outside Barnsley District General Hospital has for some time been the source of many complaints, particularly from members of the public, because it interferes with the safe flow of traffic and impedes emergency access to and from the hospital.
		The Council is proposing to introduce restrictions which prohibit loading at all times on sections of Gawber Road, Pogmoor Road, Greenfoot Lane and Ashfield Close.
		To accommodate displaced vehicles, the hospital has recently provided additional parking and there are now 43 disabled spaces within the hospital along the Gawber Road frontage.

		In November, after the colliery closed in 1967, Monckton No.1 was transferred to North Gawber Colliery, Mapplewell, some three miles north of Barnsley, along with one of its drivers, Jim Norton.
		Upon arrival at North Gawber Colliery, it was considered to be a good loco, and from September 1968, it was the working loco.
		When prospects improved, two locos were again used, and after having a couple of tubes replaced, Monckton No.1 seems to have been relegated to being the spare engine, with the tyres repordedly in very bad condition.
