 Gay - Lussac
This instrument seems to give a very "contrasty" image and I was able to record much detail on the interior of Gay - Lussac and the region extending to the North, terminating in a fine array of tiny craterlets at the extent of the observation.
The observation is rather incomplete in it's depiction of the environs of Gay - Lussac due to the session being cut short by cloud cover at 20:50 (U.T.).
Rima Gay - Lussac to the West was observed to commence at what seemed to be two shallow crater pits and extend SW giving the appearance of a crater chain to a point at which it is interrupted by a bright elevated region.

North of Copernicus, Rima Gay-Lussac was easy to find, though I could not see either of the "cul-de-sacs" that Rukl draws at the ends of this feature.
The double crater Fauth showed well to the South of Copernicus, the western portion of a ridge separating the floors of the two components being visible and more prominent than drawn by Rukl.
This feature runs from the northwest to the southeast, and marks the boundary between the dark Mare Nubium and the bright highlands surrounding the crater Mercator.

Using his 150 mm Maksutov telescope, Nigel Longshaw (Chadderton, Oldham) is another highly competent member who makes technically superb observational drawings, specialising in stippling with ink dots to convey shade and tone - a technique in which he is unrivalled.
Here, Nigel notes the presence of an ancient flooded crater, numerous hills, craterlets and the presence of low ridges very close to the terminator.

 Considering Copernicus
The crater is Gay Lussac, and the line is a rille (rima) named after the crater (which is in turn named after a French physical chemist of some renown).
Then if you wander south nearly two Copernicus diameters and start heading toward the terminator, you'll see a very distinct crater about half the diameter of our subject (this smaller crater is named Reinhold, after a German astronomer) and continue to the terminator, you might catch sight of a little dome.
Next, look north of the crater about one diameter (a bit less) and just before you get to Montes Carpatus (the Carpathians) you should see a little dark line pointing to a flattish crater in the mountains.
