		The mastermind of the deadly suicide bomb attacks on Gazipur Bar Library and in front of the gate of the Deputy Commissioner’s (DC’s) office on November 29 and December 1 respectively, that killed 11 people and injured over 90, was arrested with bomb-making materials from the house of a former intelligence personnel yesterday.
		Quoting Jewel the source said that he (Jewel) made the bombs which were used in the two suicide bomb attacks in Gazipur on November 29 and December 1 and he gave these bombs to the two members of JMB suicide squad for attacking the lawyers and the DC of Gazipur district.
		The arrestee was identified as Harunur Rashid (25), son of Naushad Ali of Karail in Chuadanga.

		The mastermind of the Gazipur suicide bomb attacks Jewel along with his wife Swapna, 19, was arrested early Monday with bomb-making materials from their rented residence at Telipara in Sadar upazila in connection with the Gazipur blasts that left 10 people killed.
		A highly placed source in DB said that Jewel, commander of Gazipur district and a bomb-making expert, told the police that he had planned to carry out suicide bombings at five spots in Dhaka including Bangladesh Secretariat, High Court, Judge’s Court, Dhaka University and in a rally at Paltan Maidan.
		Several teams of police are conducting raids in Gazipur and its adjoining areas to nab the JMB suicide squad members who are now staying in the areas, police sources said.

		In a separate incident, the second-in-command of the PBCP-Janajuddha faction, Sumon, was arrested from the Mohammadpur area in capital Dhaka on December 1.

		Meanwhile, the Khasokhel tribe handed over 10 members to the Government as guarantee for holding negotiations with the latter after the festival of Eidul Azha to identify and hand over the men responsible for the January 7-attack in which eight soldiers were killed.
