With the debut of the GeForce4 Ti 4400 and GeForce4 Ti 4600 in March of 2002, the GeForce4 Ti 4200 is scheduled for a retail appearance at the end of April.
All four GeForce4 Ti's are based on the same architecture, with the exception being the graphics processor and memory speeds.
While antialiasing on the GeForce4 is a second generation multisampling solution, NVIDIA has come a long way since the days of the supersampling on the GeForce2 Ultra.

We previewed the GeForce4 chips for you when they were launched, and we followed up with this review of a GeForce4 MX 440-based product.
The GeForce4 MX 440 is more like a GeForce2 hopped up on a cocktail of steroids, Xanax, caffeine, Metabolife, and some sort of fish paralyzer.
The GeForce4 MX has two pixel pipelines and a transform and lighting unit essentially unchanged from the GeForce2, but it packs a revamped memory interface, improved antialiasing, and reworked video- and display-oriented bits and pieces.

Review: Triplex Millennium Silver 64Mb GeForce4 Ti4200 graphics card
The various models of GeForce4 MX are cheaper still, but they're a GeForce4 in name only; they don't have a full DirectX 8 feature set, and so are really more of a high-clocked GeForce2-and-a-half.
The 64Mb Triplex Ti4200 doesn't have the over-the-top presentation of their Ti4400 and Ti4600 cards; it doesn't have a swoopy cooler on the main chip, and it comes in an ordinary cardboard box, not a preposterous little aluminium briefcase with a window.
Full GeForce4 features, and enough RAM for every current game and plenty to come, provided you don't have to turn every pretty-setting to the absolute maximum.

 Nvidia GeForce4 Technology Preview - PCSTATS.com
The GeForce4 MX does have a few enhancements to the GPU such as a stripped down version of the LMAII and a limited vertex shader incorporated into the core.
The GeForce4 MX also has Accuview AA, however that's more for a checklist then anything else, the GeForce4 MX is not really powerful enough to use AA in most games.
The GeForce4 MX's continue their MX tradition of being excellent values, the MX460 and MX440 will probably be decent performers as well because the GPU's are no longer held back by ridiculously low memory.

 HardwareCentral - Nvidia's GeForce4 Hits and Misses.
The high-performance GeForce4 Ti and value-priced GeForce4 MX are quite different in that respect, being more of enhancements to existing GeForce3 and GeForce2 technologies, respectively.
The GeForce4 MX has none of the nifty DirectX 8/8.1 features supported by in Nvidia's nfiniteFX engine, and even the former midrange GeForce3 Ti 200 offering is a far more advanced and feature-rich chip.
Whatever the reasons, the DirectX-7-generation GeForce4 MX will spell confusion in the marketplace, and I wouldn't imagine Nvidia's competitors are happy with this slight of hand.

 X-bit labs - Articles - VisionTek Xtasy GeForce4 Ti4600: Overclocking Mania Continues
In Codecreatures the performance growth was lower, which is actually not at all surprising: during extreme overclocking of VisionTek GeForce4 Ti4400 we have already found out that this test is more sensitive to the growth of the graphics chip frequency than to that of the memory frequency.
The reason is that the nominal frequencies of the graphics chip and memory are close to the top frequencies, which are determined by the chips architecture and manufacturing technology.
Evidently, when creating GeForce4 Titanium series NVIDIA engineers were trying hard to squeeze the maximum out of what they had: the modified NVIDIA GeForce3 core and 0.15micron chip manufacturing technology.
