After the Battles of Ligny and Quatre Bras, where Napoleon led the attack against field marshal Gebhard Leberecht von Blücher of the Prussians, he advanced on the British army, which was centered at Mont St. Jean, Belgium.
At this time, the retreating the Prussians were being pursued by General Emmanuel de Grouchy, though the latter was unsuccessful in overtaking Blücher’s army.
Finally, in his reminiscences, Napoleon criticized General Grouchy’s failure to intercept the Prussians, Ney& mistake of recalling D’Erlon’s corps and even when he himself erred in massing only 124,000 troops when he might easily have marshaled more by using the reserve troops.

BOOK REVIEW OF NAPOLEON AND BERLIN
Prussian successes were numerous (e.g., the battles of Groß Beeren, Katzbach, Hagelberg, Kulm, and especially Dennewitz), and they were not just limited to those engineered by Bülow -- the battle on the banks of the Katzbach was won by Gebhard Leberecht von BlŸcher (the focus of Leggiere's next work from what I understand).
And the pre-Leipzig battles must be properly understood to understand the unfolding of the campaign.
In fact, Bernadotte's continual hesitation to employ his Swedish and Russian forces not only imperiled the Prussian troops on the field of battle, but when the Prussians won, the absence of the Allied divisions continually allowed the French to retreat and fight another day rather than be crushed once and for all.
